Break the Chains

Creating safe, equal, and respectful workplaces — free from gender-based violence.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Breaking the Chains of Gender-Based Violence at Work

Gender-based violence (GBV) in the workplace remains one of the most silent yet devastating issues of our time. Too often, incidents go unreported — hidden behind fear, stigma, or a lack of awareness. The PREVENT: Breaking the Chains of Gender-Based Violence at Work project aims to confront this reality and promote workplaces built on safety, equality, and respect.

This initiative is implemented as part of the Bodossaki Foundation’s call for proposals to prevent and combat gender-based violence in Greece. It focuses specifically on the workplace — a setting where power dynamics, hierarchies, and silence often allow harmful behaviors to persist unchecked.

Our goal is simple yet transformative:
to break the chains of violence, support victims and witnesses, and empower organizations to take active steps toward a zero-tolerance culture.

Our Objectives

Create Safe & Inclusive Workplaces

Foster environments of respect and equality, built on zero tolerance for gender-based violence, discrimination, or harassment.

Empower Professionals & Employers

Provide training and tools that help HR managers and teams identify, prevent, and respond effectively to workplace violence.

Support, Awareness & Change

Offer counselling and raise awareness to support victims, challenge stereotypes, and break the silence around gender-based violence.

How we’re changing workplaces — and lives

Education & Empowerment

We train HR managers, business owners, and employees to recognise, prevent, and respond to gender-based violence. Every workshop builds awareness, accountability, and stronger, more respectful teams.

Support & Solidarity

Our Support Centres in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Chalkida offer counselling, psychological help, and guidance for victims and witnesses — ensuring that no one faces violence or silence alone.
